Erupt(ion) represents those moments when life alters abruptly. How do we learn how to see ourselves or our lives anew after a huge shift or eruption? The shadow figures on the ground symbolize a shedding of a layer of self, shadows of our past or past expectation. And as one layer sheds, it reveals the layers underneath, reflective mirrors.

Erupt(ion), wood and mirrored acrylic, 6'x4'x6', 2023

Each figure was digitally drawn and laid out on on custom shapes that are stack laminated, carved and inlayed with mirror. The shapes fit together like an overlapping puzzle.

Documentation of walking around the piece to see mirror reflection, followed by documentation of the installation at Buckham Gallery
